WWE’s biggest event of the year was also one of the longest PPVs I’ve ever watched. But it was such a spectacle that saw new champions getting crowned at “The Grandest Stage of Them All”

1Kick Off Show

WWE Cruiserweight Championship – Tony Nese defeated Buddy Murphy to become the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion

Women’s Wrestlemania Battle Royale – Carmella won the battle royale by lastly eliminating Sarah Logan who thought had the match won as she eliminated Asuka. Carmella was thrown outside but was never eliminated.

WWE RAW Tag Team Championships – The Revival faced the team of Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder. The challengers had suffered several losses already especially with Curt Hawkins’ 269-0 losing streak since returning to the WWE in 2016. The match ended when Hawkins played possum to Scott Dawson who he rolled up for the pinfall – effectively ending his losing streak and becoming the new RAW Tag Team Champions.

Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royale – Braun Strowman won the battle royale. Saturday Night Live hosts Michael Che and Colin Jost who ran into some issues with Braun participated as well as they were challenged by the Monster to be in the battle royale. The SNL hosts hid under the ring during the entire battle royale and when it was down to Braus Strowman and The Hardyz, they tried to take advantage as the legendary tag team were trying to eliminate Strowman. Braun eliminates Matt and Jeff and it was now down to Braun and the SNL hosts. Jost tries to talk things over with Braun by even bringing a therapist to the ring to help with Strowman’s anger issues but ended up eating a chokeslam. The Monster eliminates the SNL hosts with quick ease to become the 5th Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royale winner.

2WWE Universal Championship Match

Wrestlemania started with host Alexa Bliss welcoming everyone to the event. She then introduced special guest WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan who did his usual schtick and paying tribute to the late “Mean” Gene Ockerlund. The Goddess the joins Hogan to do his signature poses for the crowd as they cheered on. Out comes Paul Heyman who walked towards the ring and said if Brock vs Seth won’t be the last match, then they’ll get this done with. He then introduces the Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.

Seth Rollins comes out next but he was violently attacked even before the bell rang. Brock Lesnar laid no waste as he threw his challenger around ringside and into the announce tables. They get into the ring and the match officially begins. Brock continued to dominate Seth Rollins and tried to finish him off with an F5. The Architect counters the finisher and pushes Brock lesnar who collides with the referee. Seth Rollins takes advantage and gives Brock a low-blow and a superkick. Brock tries to get up but Rollins put him down with his Stomp finisher three times. Brock is finally out and Seth covered him for the three-count to become the new Universal Champion.

3AJ Styles vs Randy Orton

Match ends when Styles try to hit the Phenomenal Forearm but gets countered into an RKO attempt yet Styles countered as well. Styles finally hit his finisher for the three count.

4WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship Fatal Four Way Match

The Usos retain their championships against Sheamus & Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev and the team of Ricochet & Aleister Black. The champions finished off Sheamus with a double top-rope splash for the win.

5Falls Count Anywhere Match

Shane McMahon defeated The Miz. At one point, Shane McMahon was going to deliver a flying elbow to the Miz who was laid out on the table but George Mizanin, the father of the Miz, got in the way. Shane then beat up the elder Mizanin which angered Miz and beat Shane through the crowd, into the international announcers team and finally at an elevated camera platform where the Miz superplexed Shane all the way some 15-20 feet down and crashing through some tables. However it was Shane who eventually got on top of the Miz and the referee counted to three.

6WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Fatal Four Way Match

The IIconics defeated Bailey & Sahsa Banks, Nia Jax & Tamina and Natalya & Beth Phoenix to become the new Women’s Tag Team Champions. Closing moments saw Beth Phoenix delivering a Glam Slam on Bailey from the top rope. Billy Kay got the blind tag and while Peyton Royce pushed the Glamazon away which allowed Kay to steal the victory for the IIconics.

7WWE Championship Match

Xavier Woods and Big E accompany Kofi Kingston to the ring while Daniel Bryan is accompanied by Rowan. Exciting back and forth match where Woods and Big E took out Rowan who tried to interfere on Bryan’s behalf.

Bryan delivers more punishment to Kofi, putting on the LeBell Lock where Kofi refuses to tap out. Kofi eventually fights back and was able to put Daniel Bryan down with the Trouble In Paradise to finish him off and become the new WWE Champion,

After the match, The rest of the New Day and Kofi’s children celebrates with the newly crowned champion, presenting him with the original WWE title belt as well as new merchandise that they give to the crowd.

8WWE United States Championship Match

Samoa Joe quickly defeated Rey Mysterio with the Coquina Clutch to retain the US Title. Rey Mysterio was able to deliver the 619 though but his efforts weren’t able to secure him a victory.

9Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre

Intense physical match where McIntyre dominated most of the match, countering almost everything Roman has to deliver. Roman Reigns however was able to put the Scottish Psychopath down with a Superman Punch and a Spear for the victory.

10Elias Segment

Elias gets introduced three times as there are two of him on the screen with a drum set and a piano while the “real” Elias is in the ring with his guitar. They perform a musical act together which is impressive. Then he asks the other 2 to take a bow while he did his usual talk until a video interrupts him.

The video package shows Babe Ruth getting a home-run until John Cena’s word life music started playing and out comes the 16-time World champion dressed as the Dr. of Thuganomics. He then started dissing Elias, hits him with the mic and delivers the five-knuckle shuffle and an Attitude Adjustment to end the segment.

11No-Holds Barred Match

Triple H’s career will end should he lose this match. The former Evolution members went at it delivering strong blows at each other and at one point Triple H used long-nosed pliers to pull out Batista’s nose ring. Batista decimated Triple H but Ric Flair suddenly appear and hands a sledgehammer to The Game. Triple H was able to hit Batista with it and delivered a pedigree to win the match.

12Kurt Angle’s Farewell Match

Kurt Angle tried to submit Baron Corbin several times with an ankle lock but Corbin was able to survive. Kurt Angle then put down Corbin with a trifecta of German Suplexes and climbed on top to deliver a moonsault, however Baron Corbin moved away and finished off Kurt Angle with the End of Days for the win, much to the disappointment of the fans.

After the match, Kurt Angle thanked everyone and asked one more time to play his music where the crowd sang along with “You Suck” as he made his final bow.

13WWE Intercontinental Championship

“The Demon” Finn Balor defeated The Almighty Bobby Lashley to become the new IC Champion. Balor delivered a powerbomb on Lashley and finished him off with the Coup De Grace for the victory.

14Winner-Take-All for the RAW and Smackdown! Women’s Championship Triple Threat Match.

The first ever Women’s match to main event a Wrestlemania saw the Baddest Women on the Planet and RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey square off against The Queen and Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and The Man Becky Lynch – who earned her Wrestlemania ticket by winning this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble match.

The former best friends put on a temporary alliance to wear down Rousey however the former UFC Champion proved too much for both. Becky brought in a table to the match but she was knocked down by Charlotte.

Rousey put the table away as she said she doesn’t need it. Both Becky and Ronda got hit with a spear by Charlotte who sets up the table at the corner. She charges again at both opponents who counters and sends her crashing through the table, taking her out off the match.

It’s now down to Ronda and Becky who got into a fist-fight with Ronda eventually coming out on top. Ronda Rousey tries to finish Becky with a Piper’s Pit but The Man manages to turn it into a crucifix pin to win the match – giving Ronda Rousey her first pinfall loss as well.

The crowd was quite in shock because of the sudden finish, nevertheless, Becky celebrated the win as Wrestlemania closed off with The Man raising both championships up in the air.
